2015 Technical Tour Overview

The 2015 Stormwater Queensland Conference Technical Tour will be held on Friday, 17th July.  This year’s technical tour will focus on visiting sites which highlight the impacts of flooding and stormwater quantity management within the Toowoomba region. Sites to be visited in 2015 include:

Oakey Early Flood Warning System – The Tour will travel to the nearby town of Oakey to learn about their early flood warning system, put in place following the recent floods.

Outer Circulating Ring Road – The Outer Circulating Road (OCR) aims to improve traffic efficiency and reduce congestion in the heart of Toowoomba, while revitalising the northern CBD area.

East Creek and West Creek Parklands – Participants will see first-hand the locations of such devastating damage during the 2010/2011 floods and understand how incredible and surprising the extent of flood impact was in a town located at the top of a hill.
