Healthy Waterways’ Ecosystem Health Monitoring Program is one of the most comprehensive freshwater, estuarine and marine monitoring programs in Australia. The Report Card provides health ratings for the waterways of South East Queensland and has been instrumental in tracking the ecosystem health of South East Queensland’s waterways and informing management actions across the region.
The 2014 Ecosystem Health Report Card will be launched on Wednesday 22 October at 11:15am (11:30am start) until 12:30pm. The annual Report Card will provide health ratings for the waterways of South East Queensland, and will beis the culmination of twelve months of scientific monitoring at freshwater, estuarine and marine sites across the region. The launch is a high profile media event held simultaneously at four locations:
- Central: Riverlife Centre, the base of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, access via Lower River Terrace or River Terrace, Brisbane.
- Southern: Berrinba Wetlands Park, 2-30 Wayne Goss Drive, Browns Plains, hosted by Logan City Council.
- Western: Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, 34 Lake Apex Drive Gatton, hosted by Lockyer Valley Regional Council.
- Northern: Noosa Regional Art Gallery, 9 Pelican St, Tewantin, hosted by Noosa Council.
