I have always had an interest in everything to do with water. As a child, I remember playing with syphons and sailing objects along the gutter during rain events. This interest lead me to dedicate 49 years to the industry working as a Civil and Environmental Engineer for a number of consulting engineering companies. Twenty years ago, I joined the Brisbane City Council, where I am currently employed as Senior Engineer in the Drainage Design Team in City Projects Office.

At the moment I am working on the incorporation of the requirements within ARR 2019, QUDM 2016, new IFDs, and the State Planning Policy, in City Plan 2014, Council’s statutory planning instrument. It will be a team effort and will require a lot of collaboration with officers from several areas of Council.

I have been a long time member of the Stormwater Queensland committee and am grateful to have taken on the role of Secretary. It has been a great experience working with so many passionate members of the committee and I am looking forward to the years ahead.

Outside of work, I enjoy camping with a group of long-time friends, travel, fishing, photography, reading and cooking something from my extensive collection of cookbooks. I also have three children and six grandchildren who keep me on my toes!
