In response to Queensland’s growing interest in alternate stormwater solutions, Healthy Waterways has released a discussion paper about off-site stormwater quality solutions. Such solutions suggest local governments collect payment from developers in lieu of managing stormwater on-site and use this money to implement equivalent projects. The discussion paper will assist local government and the development sector to determine if off-site stormwater solutions are appropriate and how to implement them. There is an opportunity to provide feedback on the discussion paper with a closing date of 10 October 2014.
